Holidays Love Language

The Five Love Languages by Gary Chapman was written in 1992 — at some point it caught fire and has made the The New York Times Best Seller list every year since 2009. According to Chapman, we all show (and feel love) in five specific ways: Words of Affirmation, Acts of Service, Receiving Gifts, Quality Time, and Physical Touch. And, that’s our love language. How you give and how you receive love may be different, and it may be different for your partner too. But, we all have a love language.

What’s Your Love Language?

Take the quiz here. But more urgently perhaps, on Valentine’s Day, what is your partner’s love language? Here’s how to figure out your Valentine’s love language: Closely observe how your partner shows love, analyze what they complain about, and finally, create an inventory what they most often ask you for more of. Or, maybe just go ahead and ask them to take the quiz.

A Gift for Every Love Language

Words of Affirmation

Wine comes in at the mouth. And love comes in at the eye; That’s all we shall know for truth. Before we grow old and die. I lift the glass to my mouth, I look at you, and I sigh. Also, let’s take a trip to Telluride!

Acts of Service

Carry your love’s skis (no further than the Latitude 38 Clubhouse) throughout your entire romantic ski trip.

Receiving Gifts

If there’s a gift better than a trip to Telluride, let us know! But why stop there? While you’re in town, pop into Nested and bring back ranunculus and tulips. For more ideas, read up on some of our favorite new haunts.

Quality Time

Log hours on the slopes, on a fat tire bike, or just sit on a bench and sip Ghost Town drip coffee. Or grab a burrito (they’re insanely good) from the The Butcher & Baker Cafe and hit the Bear Creek hiking trail. Relive your adventures from your private hot tub. Whatever you do: Give your partner the undivided attention they crave!

Physical Touch

Does it count if someone else is doing the touching? A quick survey of our Latitude 38 staff reveals a massage from Telluride Spa Concierge is most definitely an expression of love.

But just to be safe, schedule a couple’s massage to check the Quality Time box too!
