Reopening Still Safer at Home

As there’s a resurgence in the number of national COVID cases, we want to keep you informed about what’s happening in San Miguel County, where Telluride is located. We want you to be safe and happy on your next visit to Telluride, so here’s an overview of the most recent update on the Safer-at-Home order, issued on Tuesday, November 17th, 2020.

Safer-at-Home Level Orange: High Risk

San Miguel County just updated the Safer-at-Home order from Level Yellow: Concern to Level Orange: High Risk. This is based on the recent increased rate of infection in the state of Colorado.

What Level Orange Means

This new level reduces indoor capacity in all bars, restaurants, gyms and offices to 25%. For schools, in person or remote as appropriate. For private gatherings, no more than 10 people from no more than 2 households. Bars are closed, unless food is being served and groups are seated. For group sports, virtual or outdoors in groups of no more than 10 participants. Travel by air and car only if it is essential travel.

State of Colorado is Level Red

Although it’s Level Orange in San Miguel County, the state of Colorado is Level Red. “The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment and the Office of the Governor announced the roll out of a new level on the Colorado COVID Dial Safer at Home Level Red: Severe Risk. As the pandemic continues to infect Coloradans at record frequency, this level works to keep the Colorado economy afloat while aggressively reducing transmission rates.”

Additionally, the state has confirmed that all ski resorts will remain open, even during Level Red. So, come play outdoors, safely!

If you’re planning to join your family in Telluride, please be aware of these restrictions. And, don’t hesitate to order take-out!
