Dining & Nightlife New Restaurants
It’s not too often that new restaurants open up in Telluride, so when they do, it’s definitely worth sharing. There hasn’t been a new eatery to tout since The National opened its doors in 2018. So, with three brand new options, we couldn’t wait to share the news!
Strong House Brew Pub
Imagine this: You step off the Telluride Station gondola after an incredible day of skiing and walk only one block to the outdoor seating at Strong House Brew Pub, located on the corner of S Fir Street and W San Juan Ave. Within a few minutes, you’ve ordered a Bavarian pretzel and a Hatch Chile Bratwurst and a craft beer is in your hands. As they say, “Let’s Beer.”
The Strong House is a historic building in Telluride, and the interior does not disappoint. The bar was shipped in from St. Louis. The brand new brewing equipment was installed downstairs, and the menu was packed with alpine comfort food. So, if you ever see a line forming for the gondola, take a detour to Strong House Brew Pub to wait it out.
Telluride Brewing Company Brew Pub & Taqueria
The fine folks that create the delicious beers over at Telluride Brewing Company have opened a Brew Pub and Taqueria in the Mountain Village core. You can find it next to the Madeline Hotel and Residences. They’re serving up Telluride Brewing Co. beers and delectable street tacos from Los Buenos Tacos.
Step inside the Brew Pub to order, and you’re greeted with a fantastically colorful mural of the Telluride Brewing Company logo encased in the iconic Steal Your Face skull, with added hop details, and lovely, vibrant colors. It was painted by a local Telluride artist. As if that wasn’t enough of a treat, they have a full menu of enticing tacos and several draft beers. So, if you’re craving a quick bite, grab a carnitas or al pastor. Wash it down with a Tempter IPA. And be back on the slopes before you know it. Or, gather around one of the heat lamps on their outdoor patio. Who knows, you may just stick around for another beer.
LittleHouse
The owners of The National, a premiere Telluride restaurant, opened this second location. And, there’s nothing small about the flavors packed into the elevated sandwiches, soups, and hot lunch items at LittleHouse. From a three-cheese macaroni and cheese and roasted cauliflower hush puppies, to a fried soft shell crab sandwich or a croque madam, you have fresh, mouthwatering options aplenty.
With such thoughtful combinations and brilliant ingredients — like the truffle and apple grilled cheese — it’s wonderful to have a true sandwich place in Telluride. It’s a gap that locals have been wanting to fill, and it’s finally here. Don’t forget to stop by. LittleHouse is located right behind The Market at Telluride, on W Pacific Ave. Even the adorable, rustic exterior with a mini front porch is the perfect aesthetic for this farm fresh deli.
