Spa & Health Finding Wellness
Let’s be honest: Personal attention and specialized care has never sounded better. And yet, wellness amenities are complicated by the nature of pandemic life. Slowly, carefully and thoughtfully — and with guidance from public health officials — our region’s spas, hot springs, and wellness studios are reopening.
We’ve rounded up a few of our favorite places to unwind — be sure to check their sites for the latest news, hours, and policies.
Pilates Balance
At Pilates Balance, local certified Pilates instructor Wendy Borof offers private, semi-private, and virtual mat classes to guide students through exercises that focus on strength and flexibility. Borof’s studio is part of a broader Wellness Center that offers acupuncture, deep tissue massage, and more.
Pedal Den
Pedal Den offers biking and barre classes. They have taken an early lead on adapting to the pandemic with outdoor fitness classes held in Telluride Town Park.
Aveda Telluride Spa
For massages, facials, body treatments, and more in the heart of Telluride, look no farther than Aveda Telluride Spa.
Orvis Hot Springs
Orvis Hot Springs is located in Ridgway, Colorado — just 50 minutes from Telluride. Enjoy the gorgeous drive over Dallas Divide and arrive at a collection of beautifully maintained natural hot springs with varying temperatures. Clothing is optional.
Ouray Hot Springs
Ouray Hot Springs, a gorgeous swimming pool and fitness center, is located in Ouray, Colorado (1 hr and 5 mins from Telluride). The “Switzerland of the Rockies” is only 17 miles as the crow flies, but you’ll probably opt for the paved route. The pools in Ouray offer something for everyone, especially children.
Pure Beauty & Wellness Spa
Discover a range of traditional spa services, from facials to waxing, to help you rejuvenate and glow at Pure Beauty & Wellness Spa. Or, opt for something more unique, like micro-needling or colon hydrotherapy. For something totally different, spend some time in the Salt Cave and Oxygen room. Regardless of what you choose, they’re here to make you look and feel your best.
Mangala Yoga
Students of all levels are welcome at Mangala Yoga, which offers some of Telluride’s best instructors for everything from slow flow (at 89 degrees) to heated flow (at 95 degrees). This is the only heated studio in town, so if you’re craving rejuvenation through infra-red panel heat, then this is the place for you. With a no-nonsense vibe, come in, get settled, and enjoy becoming part of the Telluride yoga community.
Ghost Town
Fuel up for your journey, wherever it takes you, with golden milk, a matcha latte, or basil cashew pesto toast at Ghost Town. This gorgeous cafe also serves up burritos, baked goods, and the full breadth of caffeinated and fermented drinks.
Telluride is home to a broad community of therapists, teachers, guides, and healers. If you have something in mind — or know only that you’re not sure what you need, but you need something — our local team is here to help you plan for the rejuvenation. Reach out to our concierge team today.
